The Luna Lou Story
My mother took things apart. Toasters. Clocks. Small appliances that had stopped working and ones that hadn't. She wanted to know how they worked and how she could put them back together better than she found them.
She kept bees. She grew things. She made soap and candles that people in the community asked for by name, planned around, waited for. She cooked from scratch because scratch is best.
She believed in the power of the moon.
I don't know exactly when I started believing in it too. But I did.
When I couldn't find personal care products made from ingredients I trusted — really trusted, the way you trust something you made yourself — I went back to what she showed me. How to work with your hands and make the things need.
Luna Lou is that. Everything she taught me, made into something I can also pass on.
Her middle name was Louise. Mine is too.
The “Luna” is for her moon and the “Lou” is for her.
Nothing about this is accidental.
Our Philosophy
The average person uses dozens of personal care products every day. Most of them contain synthetic chemicals — hormone disruptors, fragrance cocktails, fillers — that have no business being on or in a human body.
The options honestly feel endless. In reality, most of our “options” come from the same handful of mega-corporations, formulated to the same standard: cheap to make, easy to sell, and just safe enough to stay on the shelf.
Luna Lou exists outside of that. Every product is formulated from single, pure ingredients — sourced intentionally, listed honestly. Because handmade is best made.
